How It Works

• Pet owners must reside in midcoast Maine (Lincoln, Knox or Waldo county) and have a Scout's Fund Network Member as their primary pet care provider.

• Funding goes directly to the participating veterinarian providing the care and treatment. 

• Pet owners must share in the cost of medical services at some level.

• Participating veterinarian must complete an assistance application to be reviewed by Scout's Fund veterinary advisory committee. 

• The application review process may take several weeks.

• Pet owners must pledge to follow the recommendations of the veterinarian for continued and future care of their dog.  

• Please note that financial assistance is not currently available for emergency care.
